Medical dropper bottle in leather carrying case, c1905

Medical Dropper Bottle in Leather Carrying Case, circa 1905. I acquired this item on September 28, 2019 from Brunswick, MD. The description was: “…is a fine glass medical dropper flask with a ground glass stopper in a hard black leather case made circa 1905. The top of the case is gilt stamped: The Medical Supply Association Sheffield. The case measures 6 inches tall X 2 1/8 inches wide X 1 1/4 inches deep. The case is in good condition aside from light wear to the edges, two small indentations on the side, and small scuffs on the sides. The dropper bottle is very good condition. No chips, no cracks.  The bottle is stuck in the lower part of the case. The medical item comes from the sale of the museum quality Medical Collection of the late. Dr. Ronald Richard Berger M.D. of Baltimore, Maryland, held by Parzow Auction.” I found an obituary on June 2018 for Dr. Ronald Berger of who appeared to have been a cardiologist in Baltimore, MD, USA.

We found in Museums Victoria Collections a description of The Medical Supply Association: “The Medical Supply Association was most active in the 1890s to 1920s, but continued into later decades. Based in London, it had branches in Edirburgh, Glasgow, Sheffield and elsewhere in the United Kingdom. The Medical Supply Association (International) Limited was incorporated in 1953.” and at Science Museum Group as well: “Medical Supply Association. NATIONALITY: British. 1895 – 96 High Holborn, Lonond W.C.; 1905-6 – 228 Gray’s Inn Road, London W.C., branches at 12 Teviot Place, Edinburgh, 56 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, 31 South Anne Street, Dublin, 12 Holly Street, Sheffield; 1915 – 167-173 Gray’s Inn Road, London, W.C.;”
